Nuclear Pong

Pong reimagined. Poorly reimagined.

As easy as riding a bike

*if you can ride a bike

  • [S] while your counter says [S] and is red to drop a NUKE
  • [X] while your counter says [X] to slow down time

Default controls for player 2:

  • [;] for up
  • [.] for down
  • [L] while your counter says [L] and is white for a strong attack
  • [L] while your counter says [L] and is red to drop a NUKE
  • [,] while your counter says [,] to slow down time

Singleplayer

Friends are overrated anyway

Singleplayer mode is Nuclear Pong consists of three main modes: Easy, Medium, Hard, and Smart. The first three modes are essentially normal Pong against AI, with vatying AI levels of intelligence and speed.

Smart, on the other hand, is like, very hard. The AI actually uses physics and math to pre-calculate where the ball will land. You can have up to 2 balls while playing with the AI

Multiplayer

With friends that probably have nothing better to do

This mode is where the fun begins. You can customize everything here, starting from ball speed, to ball count, to how paddle speed is increased, to the amount of points needed to win. Get crazy with the settings, and even use the editor to spice things up!

Editor

Better than paint, probably

Ever wanted to play Pong inside Shrek? Well you can do that! ...technically. You see, I don't have brain damage, but if you do, you are free to use the built-in level editor in Nuclear Pong! Left click to place a wall segment, right click to remove. Rotating the wheel will increase the length of the wall, and holding on to the wheel will let you draw continiously. There are also three buttons, Save [S], Load[L], and Clear [C]. Once you save a level, it is there when you restart the game. If you screw up, you can always LOAD what you have saved, and you can also clear your abomination of a level. Please note that pressing "Change Map" in the settings menu will let you go back to the clear map, whilst not ruining your masterpiece.

General Rules

This is where the boring part begins.

This is basically classic pong: One ball, two paddles, 10 points. Except that sometimes there are 2 balls, one paddle and 3 points. You gain points by deflecting the ball. Once you get enough points, you will see a letter appear next to your counter. Pressing it will activate your power. The default and the cheapest power is a Strong Attack. The default letter for it is S. A Strong Attack speeds up the ball depending on the amount of points you have, nullifying it. What it also does, is it brings the ball to a speedy state, in which is speeds up gradually after every hit, even if it's not a Strong Attack, and it also makes your points increase quicker. If you see a second letter pop up near your coutner, it's the Time Slowdown. To activate it, you have to have the ball flying towads you and in your half of the field. It slows down time for everything except your paddle, but it also drains your points while active. The third power is a NUKE. You can activate the NUKE when your counter becomes red. A NUKE speeds up the ball drastically. Depending on the speed of the ball and your rules, your paddle speed also increases. If one player is substantially farther ahead than his opponent, his opponent gets a speed boost to balance the game.
